In September, 2024 the CEO of Automattic Matt Mullenweg announced that WPEngine had a trademark violation for the WordPress trademark. The future of WordPress is not in doubt but this will have an impact on websites that use WordPress in the short term. WP Engine has been banned from WordPress.org features and this WP Engine drama and WordPress drama will be interesting to follow in the future.

WP Engine I never used either. Too expensive and seems just way too locked down and predatory pricing, no thanks
