I tried changing my name and it was not approved. Do you think it would make sense to keep trying? My first attempt was adding “elopement & couples photographer” (it is the headline on my website, right under the name), perhaps having just “elopement photographer” would have better chances?
Thank you for all the useful information you’re sharing, I find it incredibly helpful.
@Ranking Academy I don’t have a studio, so nothing to back it up except for my website, but photographing elopements is my main specialty, so I was hoping they would let it through.
I wouldn’t keep on trying. Remember it needs to match how you represent yourself in real life.
Any thoughts on filing a DBA in your given State (assuming a US based entity) to meet the name requirements?
Ideally pairing that with a design overhaul on the website logo, copy and business signage? For example, FL DBA registry has a few additional prereqs like name being featured in a newspaper before registration, etc etc.
@Ranking Academy Never have figured out if it is human signals (feedback on listing or moderators) or automatic moderation to be honest – just sometimes the names require a chat with CS and sometimes they dont.
@Douglas Hollingsworth interesting, flagged how?
@Ranking Academy To be completely honest it has been hit/miss π It occasionally gets flagged, then we escalated to CS and its 50/50 whether the phone support tech agrees or declines.
Great strategy indeed.
