Merci beaucoup
Thanks for this video Luc! Is there any way to create a short video about creating a profile for a client and best practices in doing so? If I am having trouble determining the best method as I currently am operating as a freelancer and do not have access to the agency platform at this time. Any help would be great!
Hi Karl. This is what I normally do. I create a new google account (and try to use the name of the business as the email address such as businessname@gmail.com). I then claim a listing for the client’s business using this newly account. I will use the same email address to set up Google analytics, Search console and any other google properties so everything sits under one roof. I will then set myself up as a manager of the listing. This way I have total control over everything without having to need and ask the client for his personal details. If he ever wants to take over the account or use someone else to manage his listing all I need to do is provide him with the access details to the account and remove myself as a manager.
I was wondering where to find the free google website, a bit hidden, thanks for that
You are welcome
Thanks Luc, once again great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Luke, please ask Google to change it back to the old way. As “Luke the Duke of Google Business”, you can call on them to do this. Thanks for the helpful video, in case they don’t listen to you. Your fans will! Luke..THE DUKE! (Hey ,can i get in trouble with The King, for Knighting you “The Duke?”
π€£ no you won’t get in trouble. Unfortunately I have zero influence or leverage to change the interface back to what it was so you’d better get use to it Mr Mann
Once again, Luc, excellent video. I miss the old interface. I was wondering if there was a way or hack to change the Google default photos selection/slideshow. We can see these default selection by going in the “see new photo” section. I constantly upload new photos, and I will expect Google to show them in my google business (web or map) listing chronologically to their upload order…but it doesn’t. Google keeps displaying the same selection. Merci!
Luc, how to add pics as exterior, interior, at work etc … right now its pics, Logo only?
Unless you go back to the old dashboard you can’t do it via the new interface for now.
Great information Luc! Thanks for sharing with us as it’s a tremendous help! Question…On mobile, is there a way to change the message when asking for a review? My message just has my GBP name, but I would like it to say something more, like yours does. Is there a way to customize the default message so we don’t have to retype it every time? Thanks!
Okay, thanks. And thanks for the quick reply!
Thanks Ray. To my knowledge you can’t customise the default review request message from a mobile phone.
As a manager of multiple GB profiles I absolutely HATE the new interface!!! What a pain! Not straightforward at all unless you are a single business (maybe). It feels so extremely restrictive!
Also dislike that I can’t be navigating in GPS and access my GBP such as when I get a review and want to respond.
Seems like they rolled back time with these choices. Very painful!!
I get your frustration. This is particularly challenging for managers of multiple listings. Unfortunately it’s here to stay. π
worst choice they have ever made…. makes uploading photos a pain in the backside
I’m sure it will improve with time π€
Well done Luc for your effort in explaining everything on how to update all the info. Great video content as usual.
Thanks a lot Chris
Yeah, I do not like the changes. I noticed when I upload a posting or photo from the icon pannel at the top it does not work. It does work from the bottom right. Thanks for the info
Good to know!
Perfect, thx for the video!
No problem! Thanks for watching Dennis
Hi, Google has removed the option to add videos to business profile. Do you know of a way to add videos to the business profile. They used to have a feature to upload videos less than 30 seconds but now every time a try to upload a video it says only photos can be added only. Can you please make a video on this regard and maybe if there is a way to still upload videos, thank you
@Ranking Academy tutorial vid pls
@Ranking Academy Thank you so very much! Wow, you’re the best! Thank you again π
Go to the old dashboard by trying to update the google free website. This will take you to the old dashboard. Click on the add photo on the left hand side menu. From their you’ll be able to add videos
Most anticipated one π very kind of you π
My pleasure robin
Hey Luc, great video! I preferred the old dashboard to view all of my clients, I don’t understand Google, It was fast and easy to view all profile. Thank for the tips π
Just when you get comfortable- they change it!
The rational is based on the fact that 90% of all business listings are just stand alone as opposed to agency running multiple listings. It allegedly makes it easier for users with a single listing to manage it and of course for google.
How do you give Google a hard job? Give em an easy one.
π
Thanks Luc for another awesome video
@Ranking Academy Always happy to support a fellow youtuber
My pleasure! Thanks for commenting Zane
Luc, thank you for this update. I’m sure a bunch of us have noticed this new back end in Google Business Profile and wondered where to go and how to utilize it.
It’s always, you’re on top of things. Keep up the great work.
Many thanks Biggest Franck
I miss the old one
You can still access it…for now
